Mixtape Monday: Meyhem Lauren “Mandatory Brunch Meetings”
Mishka NYC is back to present another #MixtapeMonday with Meyhem Lauren’s second victory this year in Mandatory Brunch Meetings. The Outdoorsmen general seems to be unphased by the recent Das Racist split at the top of his Greedhead label home, dropping another 17 tracks rivalling his arguably classic Respect the Fly Shit this Summer. Click the cover to check it out and hit the jump to see what else we were bumping this week. Read more
LRG Holiday 2012 “High End Low Lifes” Campaign
LRG has landed at both shops for the coming Holiday season, accompanied by their Gucci Mane-cosigned “High End Low Lifes” campaign. The video for the campaign can be seen above, with Gucci showing both sides of his persona for the sake of the upcoming collection. Scroll down for the full lookbook, and be sure to swing through the shop in your city for the full rundown.
Mixtape Monday: Nacho Picasso “Black Narcissus”
Our apologies for the predictability in this section of the blog recently, but we like to think of it as consistency. If your not a Nacho Picasso fan by now, his latest project (presented by our homies at Alive & Well) should be enough to convince you, and if you’re already familiar than the switch up from all BSBD production on this one should at least make you curious. Click the cover to have a listen and dont forget to hit “Read more” to get the rest of the best this week including Fabolos, Fashawn and Lil’ B. Read more
Mixtape Monday: Action Bronson “Rare Chandeliers”
Always an easy pick at this time of the week, Action Bronson is back with yet another full tape for us. Filled with 13 classic loops from The Alchemist and guest bars from Sean Price, Styles P, Evidence, Schoolboy Q, Roc Marciano and Meyhem Lauren, Rare Chandeliers made it pretty hard for anyone else to compete. Click the cover to peep it for yourself, and click “Read More..” to see what else we had our ears on this week. Read more
Mixtape Monday: Omen “A Glorious Cool”
Definitely more laid back than a lot of the joints we’ve been putting on lately, Omen’s A Glorious Cool is a perfect listen for the cold stay-at-home days that have been creeping in on the coast. A truly lyrical project from the Chicago emcee, the tape mixes both borrowed and original beats over its 11 tracks, with verses and hooks from select few others including King Mez. Click the cover to download or click here to check out out the latest from #MixtapeMonday alumni and HBK leader IAMSU!
Mixtape Monday: Curren$y “Priest Andretti”
There’s not much more to say about Curren$y that hasn’t already been said. This is a good mixtape, click the cover to get it. If you’re in the mood for something different, though, there was plenty of other good stuff this week too. Chuck Inglish provided Benny Cassette with 7 beats for Angel Dust, San Francisco’s DaVinci gave us his MOEna Lisa album for free, Hollywood Squadda (aka Squadda B) hit us with Disc 1 of LFK and weirdo producer RAP/RAP/RAP uploaded 20 new instrumentals for Strange Days. Enjoy.
Mixtape Monday: Aziz “Tinderboxx”
OK so this joint actually came out just over 2 weeks ago now, but we got too deep in the Pyrex of the Trap God and forgot about this new guy from Boston. Just for a minute though. This is a great tape from a great artist and at 10 tracks it’s an easy, concise listen with minimal features that keeps the focus on Aziz himself. Hit the cover to peep it for yourself right now, and while you’re at it Vince Staples dropped another earlier-this-month gem with producer Michael Uzowuru called Winter in Prague that is also well worth a click.
Mixtape Monday: Gucci Mane “Trap God”
Gucci Mane is back from (at least what feels like) a brief hiatus and it seems like the formula has once again been perfected. He doesn’t reinvent himself on any of Trap God’s 20 tracks, but these days it’s rare to find an artist that can be refreshing in their consistency. Click the cover to download, or peep something different this week like a free stream of RZA’s Man With the Iron Fists soundtrack, a new Freeway joint, the latest from #MixtapeMonday alum XV, or a crazy tape from Tanboys leader Bodega Bamz.
Odd Future x Incase iPhone 4S Snap Cases
Following our recent Fall clothing drops from them at both shops, OFWGKTA iPhone 4S snap cases from Incase are now available at Complex Victoria. Limited quantities in 3 colourways are available so swing through early for your pick of the litter. Scroll through for more photos, courtesy of Hypebeast.
Mixtape Monday: Danny Brown “Bruiser Brigade EP”
Continuing his corporate partnership with Scion A/V, Danny Brown recently linked up with the car company to bring us 2 new tracks with 2 remixes (including one from Canadian buzz man Ryan Hemsworth) packaged as the Bruiser Brigade EP. Despite its relatively short playtime, the project managed to take the top spot in a week where Rick Ross was the only real competition. Click the cover to stream or download.
