Celebrating three of the world’s most influential sneaker epicenters, the women’s Spring 2016 Look of the City collection takes a look at the architecture and design history of New York, Paris and Tokyo. Each design reimagines an iconic Air Max silhouette in a mix of patterns and colors with a unique dubre to represent an essential artistic period of each destination.
Women’s Nike Air Max Zero LOTC ‘Tokyo’ QS | Available March 26th in Victoria
Tokyo’s Air Max Zero speaks to the elegance and simplicity of traditional Japanese style. A fused upper provides a textured backdrop to the wave-inspired stitching on the heel and toebox. A Nike logo on the heel nods to the asymmetrical yet balanced style emblematic of Japanese design.
Women’s Nike Air Max Thea LOTC ‘New York City’ QS | Available March 19 in Victoria
For New York, the Air Max Thea delivers an Art Deco-inspired design with a contrasting sunburst pattern replicating the triangular vaulted windows of the iconic Chrysler building. Rich suede pairs with a leather Swoosh in black tones synonyms to NYC.
Women’s Nike Air Max 1 Ultra LOTC ‘Paris’ QS | Available now in Victoria
Calling to mind Paris’ Art Nouveau movement—a decadent time and place for design—the Air Max 1 Ultra represents a moment when lush fabrics, flowing curves and intricate details ruled. Gold embroidered details set against a premium suede upper provide a rich update for a look inspired by the intricate architecture found within the city.
Inspired by MJ’s relentless ability to take flight, the ‘Dunk From Above’ Air Jordan 4 Retro incorporates the seasonal theme of ‘soar’. The Air Jordan IV, which introduced the word ‘Flight’ onto a basketball shoe, features an inner label with a midnight navy and metallic gold design. Available Saturday, March 19th at both locations. $255.
Safari print has been around for nearly three decades. Born from the mind of Tinker Hatfield and found on the 1987 Air Safari, the unique print has since appeared everywhere from the pitch to half pipes.
The Air Max 1 ‘Safari,’ reminiscent of a former collaborative Air Max release, is updated with new materials to create a different look from the originator. Two-toned, heavy suede and a translucent glow-in-the-dark outsole help create the new appearance for the 2016 release. Available Monday, March 14th in Victoria. 8-13. $200.
A classic Air Jordan V colour makes its debut on the Jordan 5 Retro Low. With premium white leather uppers and Fire Red accents, the black tongue and mesh details make this a perfect entry for summer low top style. Available at BOTH LOCATIONS on Saturday, March 12th in Men’s and Women’s sizes.
On and off the court, Kevin Durant is always at his best. The same can be said for the KD 8, now reconstructed for off-court wear in premium leather. The new look is made possible with a vachetta tan leather upper. A perforated Swoosh combines with sail and total orange accents to complete the KD 8 EXT. Available Saturday, March 5th in Victoria in limited quantity. Men’s size 9-12. $265.
Released as a follow-up to the debut Air Jordan I, the Air Jordan I KO comes to life with a full-canvas construction. Set atop a sole reminiscent of the Vandal High, the shoe releases in the same iconic colour schemes now appreciated by MJ fans across the globe. Over three decades later, the Air Jordan I KO returns in classic team tones. Available Saturday, March 5th. 8-12. $190.
The Air Jordan 2 Retro “Wing It” pays tribute to the brand’s ad campaign that coincided with the shoe’s original release in 1986. Premium leather covers the upper, and the White, black and dark gray showcase the “Wing It” on the shoe’s heels that capture the spirit of Jordan’s effortless game above the rim. Available Saturday, March 5 at BOTH LOCATIONS. 8-12. $255.
Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, and LeBron James have officially set their sights on Toronto and the All-Star game. Representing the East and West, respectively, each will showcase pinnacle performance shoes inspired by the city’s royal origins. Decorative badges commemorate individual player achievements while metal, leather and embroidery further embellish the limited-edition footwear.
KOBE XI ELITE LOW
A sleek black upper with a glowing green pop is a nod to the luminescence of the Northern Lights. Unique molded leather detailing on the heel and tongue gives the KOBE 11 new dimensionality. 8-13. $295.
The LEBRON 13 features a grey-green upper — reminiscent of the neutral tones of Toronto’s winter — with graphic blocking similar to the KD8. An icy, marbled effect covers the outsole heels of James’s game shoe while pins honor the player’s on-court triumphs. 8-13. $295.
Modern blocking, inspired by the classic look of flags spotted throughout Toronto that represent the city’s internationalism, brings a fresh graphic twist to the KD8’s Flyweave upper. Removable patches adorn the heel and tongue, and a white and light blue marble graphic, which references Toronto’s icy winter weather, decorates the outsole. 8-13. $265.
Jordan Brand launched the Retro Remaster initiative in spring of 2015. In response to consumer feedback, it incorporated enhanced color options, cushioning, materials and shapes while retaining each shoe’s original character. The brand sustains this initiative by evolving the remastering process and reintroducing the Nike Air logo on the heels of storied silhouettes. The decision, which honors original designs like never before, was approved by Michael Jordan and continues with the Air Jordan 4 Retro ‘Cement’.
The fan-favorite Air Jordan 4 Retro ‘Cement’ returns for the first time since 1999, complete with randomized paint splashes, premium leather uppers and the famous NIKE AIR logo on the heel. Enter the raffle in the Victoria location for your chance to purchase a pair. Sizes 4Y-13. Raffle ends Friday, February 12th at 6PM.
